Here is a small list of what I consider close in established bouldering areas.

  • County Rd. 371 from the first tunnel on both sides of the road all the way to Bob's Rock.
  • Turtle Rock boulders, north side, east side, south side. And going south.
  • American Gully, Wall Street Gully, Sunshine Wall, South Turtle Rock, Rim Boulders and Gully's, Tunnel Boulders and S Curve Boulders.
  • The S Curve Boulders and the surrounding area have lots of ESTABLISHED boulder problems, clear up to the North side of TURTLE ROCK. I mention one of my favorites here.
Squeeze Play in the S Curve Boulders. Look for an overhanging, outward flaring crack between two large boulders, then climb a seam turn crack on the larger boulder on your right. Walk off. This is in a north/south running gully. Lots of great problems in the area. Have fun boulder buddies.

Hopefully in the new Ark Valley guide these will be placed on the map so they are easy to find.

Boulder on boulder buddies.

Do the boulder areas you list consist of the normal grainy, sharp rock that defines the commonly found rock all over BV? I have found the best rock is from rockfall like the talus field at Almost a Tunnel.
